I am so scared right now. I have a urinary tract infection. I know that if I don't get treated, the infection can go to my kidneys. It might have already since I am pretty sure that I have a fever and that is one of the signs. I really just want to take some antibiotics and be better. I can't. The last time I went to the doctor I paid a $20 copay and signed that all of my paperwork was the same. I didn't know that my dad's insurance had decided that since I was a student who didn't live on campus or with my parents, they didn't consider me a student. He hadn't told me that they had dropped me.
If I go back to the doctor, I will have to pay the rest of that $200 bill, on top of the brand new $200 bill. Also, the doctor had automatically scheduled me for a follow-up last time that I didn't go to because I had found out that I was uninsured and didn't want to have to pay. Not showing up adds another $20 to my bill. My health is worth more than $420, but that is half of my money. I am a full-time student and I quit my job in order to study for finals and actually spend time with my family over the holidays. What the hell am I supposed to do? I don't want to ask my family for money. I don't have $120 a month plus $1000 deductible. I don't want to go on medicaid, but it looks like that is what I am going to have to do.

While this may be a little late, (i just now read this), I hope you got the proper medical attention. A few bills are a small price to pay for health. I had a similar problem a few years back, while I came out with some annoying bills to pay it was all worth it. I was no longer sick, and thats what mattered.
In any case, get well soon.
